Introduction

Hello all, administrator Shellturtleguy here to bring you a special announcement that is long overdue.

I am here to talk to you all about the main way this wiki communicates with one another, how users congregate and get to know each other, how users are sometimes welcomed to this wiki and given a first impression of the community...

Blogs.

I am here to talk to you all about blogs, the expectations for them, how to behave on them, (be it in the blog itself or in the Comments section), and the consequences for not following the rules our beloved administrator Axel TWD created for us to try to keep the peace.

What Are Blogs?

Blogs are pages created by an individual where they share opinions, predictions, post polls asking the community's opinion on a matter, etc. It is also where some new users introduce themselves to the community if they do not know where to go to get acquainted with users and feel welcomed.

Blogs are also where unnecessary fights take place between users, sometimes between two, sometimes between three, and sometimes between many, many more. We will get to that later in this blog.

Expectations For Blogs

Like I have stated earlier, administrator Axel TWD has set up a set of rules for blogs that users are expected to follow. I will not copy and paste the entire page, just let it be noted that the rules can be found here. They can also currently be found under Community Messages at the time of this blog's creation.

How to Behave on Blogs

To briefly summarize what sections of the rules I mean to speak about:

1. Blog Content - No Harassment

This is self-explanatory. No harassment in the blog content itself, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Calling out other users on something they have done or may do.
  • Any form of name-calling towards other users.
  • Any shape or form of racist, sexist, ageist, ableist, or homophobic remarks whatsoever.

2. Comment Content - No Harassment

Again, this is self-explanatory. No harassment in the Comments section of any blog on this wiki, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Calling out other users on something they have done or may do.
  • Any form of name-calling towards other users.
  • Any shape or form of racist, sexist, ageist, ableist, or homophobic remarks whatsoever.
  • No pictures, memes, or .gifs meant to insult, mock, or intimidate users in any way, shape, or form.

Consequences

If any of the above rules are violated in any way, shape, or form, appropriate actions by an administrator such as myself will be taken.

Blogs and Comments as a Whole

1. If the content of a blog violates any of the Blog Rules, it will be deleted by an administrator. 2. If the blog content does not violate any of the Blog Rules, but it is clear the Comments section is just a big war zone and the actual meaning of the blog is lost, the users involved in the comment war will be punished accordingly and, depending on the severity, Commenting will be disabled by an administrator if they deem it worthy for disabling. The administrator will then ask the creator if he/she wants their blog to be deleted as a whole.

Blog Content Specifically

1. If a blog does not meet blog requirements, the blog will be deleted, the creator will be notified, and, depending on what sections of the rules were broken, will be punished accordingly by an administrator. New users will not be punished if they unknowingly create a duplicate blog or their blog does not meet the requirements. However, if they harass users in any way, shape, or form, they may be banned, they may receive a message warning, a template warning, or a message and template warning together. A template warning is one step away from a ban, while a message warning is usually two steps away from a ban. If the harassment is serious enough at any of these warnings, the user will be promptly banned for a time chosen by the administrator.

Comment Content Specifically

1. If a comment violates any of the rules and/or harasses users in any way, the comment will be deleted and the user who posted the comment will be notified and, depending on the severity of the content of the comment, will be punished accordingly by an administrator. For less severe rule breaking, the user may receive a message warning, a template warning, or both.

Conclusion

The rules and consequences stated above apply to every user, including well-known users that have proven themselves to be a valuable asset to the wiki and an all-around good person, as well as administrators. It does not matter who you are, if you break any of these rules, you will be punished accordingly. I apologize for the bluntness, but the fighting has been getting way too out of hand and gives off a bad reputation for this wiki. People will not want to stay on a wiki where they feel the community is aggressive and they do not feel welcome at.

If you see any of these rules being violated and if an administrator has not taken action yet, report it to them. Do not feel afraid to report harassment. If you feel unsafe or feel you are being targeted, let an administrator know, we will take care of it, that is my promise to you.

If it turns out a Staff member has violated any of these rules, they will be given one warning and one warning only before their titles are completely stripped and they are left a template warning. If you are currently auditioning for administrator and you break any of these rules, your nomination or application will be made null and void and you will have to wait a few months and until administrators believe your behavior has changed for the better before you can run again.

If it turns out an administrator has violated any of these rules, they will be given one warning and one warning only before their powers are stripped. They will have to wait a couple of months and until other administrators feel their behavior has improved before re-applying for the position.

Thank you all for reading this. Please take these rules into consideration so this is a safe environment for every user.
