First of all dont worry, this is not another "ohhh noes Glenn is rly ded now but no hes alive hurrdurr" blogs, but rather a blog about the consequences that Glenns death will have to the storyline and other charakters and how it enables the TV-series to closer follow the source Material.
Secound of all please now that english Isnt my first language, so Id like to appologize for any grammar and/or punctuatiion errors.
1. The Tragedy:
The only thing I wana say about Glenns death (which I really hope is genuine) is that it was his originally planned death from the comics. I dont know how many comic-readers know about this but Glenn was originally supposed to die in the no way out arc, but Kirkman choose against it at the last minute. Seeing him die like he was supposed to was somehow bittersweet as it didnt feel as random as it seemed at first.

2. The Counterparts:
Maggie:
Every comic reader knows what a gigantic hole the season 3 finale ripped in the Tv series (and our hearts T_T). With Andreas deatha whole lot of other story arcs died with her, Abrahams introduction, half of the hunter arc, her relationship with Rick and being stepmother to Carl and the whole " we are the onew who survive" speech.
Most of her role has been passed off to Sasha, which in my opinion is allright it was handled well through the hunter arc and she finally has a purpose now.
However a role which Sasha cant take is the relationship with Rick, they just havent interacted much and didnt even spend much time in the same group and honestly I just cant picture it.
For a long time now I thought that Jessie would stick around since her Tv charakter is astronomically better than her comic-charakter ( at least in my opinion), but now with Glenn being dead, Maggie could easily fill that role, yes, Raggie (or Mick?) could be a thing. Now I dont know why and how it would happen but it certainly could and it would be awesome.
Carol:
So okay, if Maggie ends up being with Rick and leading Alexandria with him, who is going to lead the hilltop? Non other than Carol, who is one of the best developed charakters in the whole series.
For a long time I couldnt stand her I liked comic Carol and didnt approve of her development in the TV-series because it felt so off. but since last season she has grown on me and with her now badass attitude she could be a great leader and take the Role of comic-Maggie.
Daryl:
Oh yes, the holy squirrel guy. Now to be honest I was allways fond of Daryl, he was interesting in seasons 1 and 2 and his development is pretty stellar albeit pretty minimalistic.
Many fans have speculated for a long time that Daryl will fall victim to Lucille and now with Glenn being gone I really think thats the route theyre going to take with him.
It would be brutal, it would be gut wrenching, it would be sad and it woul fit perfectly. Nuff said.
Abraham:
TV-Abraham is meh. He doesnt do anything, barely says anything and is not even close to be as compelling as his comic counterpart.
With Glenn gone and Daryl probably kicking the bucket to Negan, Abraham could get his time to shine during the all out war arc. I really hope he sticks around for all out war because in the comics he didnt make it, which was a real shame due to his military background.
3. The Conclussion:
At first I was really pissed that they decided to kill Glenn off early but now Im really glad they did because so many great storylines from the comics can now play out better. I for one would be really disapointed if it really was just Nicholas body and Glenn turns out to be alive, it would be worse than anything Darly ever did and would kill so many opportunitys.
So thats my assumption on what is going to happen if Glenn is really dead, just to be safe, I dont care about any spoilers or leeks as they in most cases arent reliable and proof nothing so please dont start to argue over how "Glenn is totally alive you stupo" because that isnt the point of this blog.
