Issue 127 Characters
- Some thoughts about issue 127
- I don't know if anyone else has thought of this, and I'm not sure if it adds up in terms of continuity, but has anyone considered that Lily Caul is the character on the issue 127 cover? And that the others are left over survivors from Woodbury? It's a little out there, but as I understand it, there's supposed to be a novel that picks up where The Woodbury series left off, with Lily as the leader of whatever remains of Woodbury. I imagine that this novel will bridge the time gap between the aftermath of the Prison battle, and issue 127, explaining things from Lily's point of view. I know Kirkman said that the prison was dead to him, but that would probably apply to the setting as opposed to the characters. If wh…
Multiple Blogs Problem
I've seen a lot of complaints about duplicate blogs, and have had a bit of trouble with that myself. I think part of the problem is that only 3 of the most recent blog pages are listed on the home page, so when people create a duplicate page, they don't realize they're doing it until it's too late. If that number were increased to 7 or 10 for example, I think we'd see fewer duplicates and fewer complaints. I'm not an admin, so I don't know if that would work or if it's even possible. It's just a thought.
Should the Show be Based on the Comic?
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who realizes that for everything the show has done right, there are several things that it's done wrong. This is just my opinion of course, but when I say they've done something wrong, I'm not complaining about their lack of loyalty to the source material, in fact, many of their original ideas are what make the show worth watching. When I say they've done something wrong, I mean that they've made changes that either don't make sense, or are completely unnecessary. I could bring up several examples, but I can't really bring up anything that hasn't been brought up before. So instead, I'm going to address what I believe to be at the core of the issue. Based on the success of the Telltale game, I believe th…
Mid-Season Pros and Cons (Mostly Cons)
So, a couple of notes (to put it mildly) on the mid-season finale.
In one of the more creative deviations from the source material, The Governor survived the initial prison assault in the season 3 finale. To top this, once he returned, the show actually managed to incite a certain amount of pathos towards his character. While I don't think anyone ever thought he had truly changed, there was reasonable doubt as to whether or not he had reformed, which made him more 3-dimensional than his comic counterpart.
That being said, from Dead Weight onward, the show immediately rushed to the conclusion that he hadn't changed at all. Having joined and assumed leadership of this new group over the course of a few days (correct me if I'm wrong), he manage…
Issue 114 Review
For those of you who care, sorry I didn't come out with a 113 review. At the time I didn't have much to say about it, so I thought I'd give someone else a chance to review it. So, without further ado, issue 114.
Warning, Spoilers Ahead.
Rick: I condemned Rick for his attempted assassination of Negan for a number of reasons in my 112 review, and only had a small amount of hope that either there was some kind of bakcup plan, or that he would be able to think his way out of it. I'm reasonably satisfied with how it all turned out, but the thing that struck me about this issue is that everyone, including Jesus, Andrea, Michonne, and Ezekiel seem to realize that the attack was a mistake. Yet Rick seems adament that his plan could've worked, never a…
