What's your favorite season? Season One, or Season Two? For me, NOTHING can beat Season One.

Lee was great and all. The characters he met too.
But Season 2 was really something else. I really liked playing as Clem. In Season 1 I was the guardian watching ever so vigilantly the little girl under my care. In Season 2 I was that little girl. A badass little girl that can look Carver in the eyes in such a snide, cool way. And cut off people's arms too, that's a plus.
That... and I also liked Luke's character. He's a lovable farmboy, and not as much of a fucking downer as Nick.
He was the most wasted character ever created. He had a lot of time to show his development in Season 2 but failed because they made him such a stupid character. He died because of his own stupidity. He was fine in episode 1-3 but in episode 4-5. But I don't mean I dislike him more than Troy but I hate Luke's character, he was suppoused to be the major character of Season 2.

Episodes 4 and 5 are pretty miuch just excuses for the cast to die off. To get rid of the cannon fodder that Carver himself hasn't killed. You can't judge a character by those two.

IMO, pretty much all the deaths and characters' disappearing in Episodes 4-5 were stupid.
And how is Luke stupid? He banged a girl when she offered it (which would be impossible to not accept) while on guard duty. Who doesn't do that from time to time? And him walking on thin ice is because the group wanted a fast way to shelter, which was a stupid move on the group's part.

Not just that, Luke being such an idiot runs to another cover to kill Buricko instead of staying behind the wall where it was safe

One, THEY DIDN'T HAVE SEX. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO REPEAT THAT?
I kind of agree on the thin ice thing, but really? You hate him because of a small, incosistent moment during a battle?

I don't care, they still put the group in danger. And I told him to stay down in cover but he didn't listen cause he is such an idiot.
While Luke can't really be seen as stupid I do have to agree that he was a hit and miss and to a degree wasted opportunity, as the writers had the whole season to develop him and in that time we didn't learn a whole lot about the guy. We didn't even get to expand on his whole college life thing in episode 4 (which should've came earlier so that way we could've talked about a whole lot of stuff at that campfire.) and on that note we barely learned anything meaningful at that fireplace from any of the remaining characters. Like we wanted to know the important stuff, I wanted to ask Mike how in the hell did you get those scars? (Don't tell me you're the bleeding Joker)
Anyways Luke rant aside I much preferred season 1, like someone above mentioned having it take place during the early days of the apocalypse was great as it made people more open to band together to fight against the zombies while also touching on the selfishness of others who wanted to keep their own groups alive by any means necessary. (A la St.Johns)
Plus choices actually mattered a bit more, if you get what I'm saying. Oh sure some things are bound to happen, Chuck, Carley/Doug, or Ben dying no matter what you choose being a prime example of that but you know people gotta die man, deaths help bring a story forward. (The amount of people who died/left on the way to Savannah is austounding though, could be compared to the prison slaughter in the comics except that Lee's group had a whole lot less in the way of number of group members to begin with.)
Another reason S1 is above S2 for me is the characters and how they were utilized, I mean practically all of the characters introduced in S1 had a lasting impact on the group while in S2 not even the members of the group itself had a lasting impact on the group. XD Also Carver was seriously wasted, and not in a good way either. The guy should've been kept around until a sweet face-off in episode 5, and immidieatly (already know I spelled that word wrong, always do without dat spell check tho) after have Clem have to choose between saving two group members either from Carver or when they're facing off against each other, would've been brutal and would seriously bring that sense of the walking dead into that episode of the season, end if off with a shebang and all that good stuff.
Well I'm slowly delving into ideas that would make S2 better, which I believe probably needs to go on another topic so I'm out before I get carried away lol, S1 is the clear winner for me let's see what S3 brings to the table.

In his defense, you probably wouldn't heed a little girl's advice in the middle of a gunfight.

Still, his plan was sinful
I believe Season 1 is better, because it seems they put more emotion and time into it then they did Season 2.
