Terry is a character first encountered in Issue 19 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead and a main character in the Michonne Special is featured in the Michonne Special and appears in Issue 19 as a zombie. Terry is also the best friend of Michonne's boyfriend, Mike.

Almost nothing is known about Terry's life before or as the outbreak began, except that Terry was the best friend of Michonne's boyfriend, Mike.
Post-Apocalypse
Safety Behind Bars
Terry and Mike were staying in a small house and later met up with Michonne. When Mike was bitten, Terry watched over him and when Mike eventually turned, he bit Terry and Terry became a zombie. Michonne found them, cut off their arms and jaws, chained them up, and used them as a camouflaging-deterrent form of protection from other zombies. After Michonne saved Otis' life, she gained entry into the prison, only if she handed over her katana and killed her two pet zombies, Terry and Mike, so Michonne decapitated them both.

It can be assumed that Terry was not aware of how the infection works and was caught off guard by Mike's death and reanimation, which led to him being turned by his former friend.

Michonne was traveling with Mike and Terry, and as Michonne saved Otis, she was approved entry into Rick's group as long as she killed them.
