"Smitty" is a character first encountered in Issue 48 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead. He is a resident of Woodbury. Smitty is a character also featured in The Walking Dead: The Fall of the Governor. He is described as having long side burns.
Smitty most likely lived in Georgia before the outbreak and is presumably a hunter because he used to talk to The Governor about turkey hunting for thanks-giving.
Smitty is seen in the prison assault, and is one of the Woodbury soldiers. He kills Billy Greene point blank, and immediately starts mourning for him and regretting his actions. The Governor tells him not to regret what he did and praises him for his kill, and reminds him of how many of their own Billy had killed. Smitty wipes the tears from his face and continues shooting the Prison survivors.
Smitty was devoured by zombies whilst trying to escape the prison.

After killing Billy, Smitty was very upset and immediately started mourning and regretting his actions towards Billy.
