I-I'm bit. Oh, God...! Clementine...It bit me... I'm dead. I'm dead (...) It doesn't matter, I'm bit.
―Sarita to Clementine about her bite. (Determinant)[src]

Sarita, nicknamed "Rita" by Matthew, is a main character who first appears in Telltale Games's The Walking Dead: Season Two. She appears as Kenny's girlfriend. Sarita saved Kenny, whom she had found taking refuge in a restaurant, one of the many abandoned and dilapidated establishments remaining in the post-apocalyptic world. Sarita found him recovering from his depressive state from the events in Georgia.

Pre-Apocalypse

Location Unknown

Very little is known about Sarita's life before or as the outbreak began other than that she was of Indian origin and that her family never really celebrated Christmas. However, she always enjoyed the holiday season because of all the decorations.

Post-Apocalypse

Location Unknown

Not much is known about her life after the outbreak, except that she saved Kenny, whom she had found taking refuge in a restaurant, one of the many abandoned and dilapidated establishments remaining in the post-apocalyptic world. Sarita found him in his depressive state from the events of Season 1, and noted that he had let his facial hair grow out and was exceedingly weak. From the point they met onwards, Kenny and Sarita had become very close, with Sarita acting as Kenny's rational and emotional side to situations. Eventually, they become lovers and left the restaurant to head north to Wellington.

Moonstar Lodge

It is unknown how long after they met that they found the ski lodge, the place where they met Walter and Matthew. Upon their arrival, it is assumed that the two different groups became friends. Sarita tells Clementine what she thinks about Matthew later on, commenting on how (dangerously) nice Matthew was when they first met, and the nickname Matthew gave to her, "Rita". Walter said that Kenny and Sarita helped him and his partner build the lodge into what it was when Clementine and the cabin group reached the resort. Together, the four people managed to fortify, modify, and even decorate the ski lodge, fixing the wind turbine outside while doing so.

After the onset of the harsher weather, against their habit of leaving lights off at night to avoid drawing attention, they found the ski lodge's storage and raided Christmas decorations from it, including a large supply of decorative bulbs and lights which were strewn around the inside of the building.

Season 2

"A House Divided"

Sarita is first seen disputing with Clementine's group along with Walter and Kenny, asking if their intentions are to steal belongings from their residence at the ski lodge. Despite defending affirmations from members of Clementine's group about why they're there, Sarita does not place her trust in the opposing people until she sees Clementine reunite with Kenny, which brings both groups together. After everyone enters the building, another argument ensues over tension surrounding members of both groups harnessing weapons inside the ski lodge. Sarita manages to convince Kenny to lay down his rifle in order for the groups to settle their differences. Sarita asks Carlos if she can steal Sarah for a "secret mission".

Clementine is later introduced to Sarita after she and Kenny had a heart-to-heart talk. Clementine also helps her and Sarah add the finishing touch, an angel or star, to the top of the Christmas tree in the main area. While decorating the tree, Sarita confides in Clementine her worries about Kenny having become different over time, worries that Clementine can mitigate or confirm their need for stress. Sarita's troubles are shown to be more than paranoia after Kenny verbally lashes out at her and snatches a box of decorations that she'd insisted on carrying, though Sarita asserts that it was just his protective nature. Sarita is later shown eating dinner with Kenny and Walter on the right-hand side table, and is also present when the group defends the ski lodge against walkers drawn to the overpowered wind turbine, though she'd wanted to join Kenny in deactivating the haywire transformer. She is then held at gunpoint after Carver's group ambushes them.

If Kenny takes the shot at Carver after taking Alvin hostage, who is then murdered because of it, Sarita is used as the next bargaining chip against Kenny, and he resigns from his sniper position out of fear that she would be killed as well. Alternatively, if Clementine left to find Kenny to get help from him, and she tells him not to shoot, she will say that Sarita could be next if Kenny misses. Sarita is then taken as a prisoner back to Carver's survivor settlement along with the rest of the group (except for Luke).

"In Harm's Way"

In the back of the truck, Sarita tends to agree with most of what Rebecca and Carlos are saying in waiting for a better opportunity to escape and trying to form up a plan of escaping beyond just attacking from the start. At one point, Kenny snaps at her and she orders him not to speak to her that way. He apologizes, but continues in his goal of jumping out of the truck at the first opportunity and attacking whoever was out there. When Kenny is hit by the truck door, she rushes to his side to tend to him.

If Kenny surrendered to Carver whom then spared Alvin, Sarita arrives at Howe's Hardware with the other cabin survivors and is seen comforting Rebecca after Alvin is summoned away on the first night and/or after Rebecca feels a kick from inside her womb and needed to sit down. (Determinant) Sarita remains silent during Carver's discipline lesson to Sarah, but is shown to be extremely horrified by it.

Two days later, after Luke is found, she watches in horror Carver mutilate Kenny by beating him and the option to help Carlos restrain her is presented (if the player chooses this and fails, she will be knocked unconscious by Troy, similar to Clementine if she decides to help Kenny instead). Otherwise, she is absolutely traumatized by Kenny being beaten to near-death before her and enters a state of depression out of fear that he would die.

Rebecca comforts Sarita as she recovers from Troy's strike (Determinant) and the emotional damage at seeing Kenny nearly killed. When Luke is the first to suggest leaving Kenny behind in order to escape, Luke is accused of not caring that it was his fault Sarita and Kenny were prisoners to Carver in the first place. Kenny awakens and declares that he would be able to go with them. Sarita hugs him gratefully. Although distraught at Kenny's injured state, she helps the group upon him awakening and escapes with them until stopped by Carver. After Clementine intervenes, she has the option to either leave with Sarita or watch Kenny kill him (if Clementine chooses to stay, Sarita will protest but ultimately relent to Clementine).

At the end of the episode, she and the others cover themselves in walker entrails and walk out of Carver's community. After Carlos gets shot and devoured, Sarah alerts the rest of the group and the nearby walkers with her screaming. Sarita separates herself from Kenny when she tries to protect Sarah and Clementine from an oncoming host of walkers. After Clementine kills off a few walkers, she hears Sarita cry out in pain as a walker bites deeply into her wrist. The player has the choice of killing the walker or chopping off Sarita's arm. If her arm is amputated, she will clutch what's left of her arm and let out a bloodcurdling scream as the episode ends abruptly. If the player chooses to kill the walker instead, she will stare at her wrist, which lost its skin, in horror.

"Amid The Ruins"

The episode picks up directly after "In Harm's Way", when Clementine was given the choice to either amputate Sarita's arm or kill the walker that bit her.

If Clementine chose to amputate Sarita's arm in the previous episode: Sarita will be screaming after Clementine uses her hatchet to sever it. Sarita then screams wildly, which attracts walkers to surround and engulf her, biting her several times. Kenny will then rush over and save Sarita from the other walkers that were attacking her. Kenny will be aggressive towards Clementine for severing Sarita's forearm, and they are forced to leave Sarita behind leaving her to become undead or Clementine can put her out of her misery by axing her in the head which leaves Sarita dead.

If Clementine chose to kill the walker in the previous episode: Sarita will panic at the sight of her infected arm but will make it out of the herd safely, following Kenny and Mike. Kenny refuses to listen to Mike when he says that she is bitten and would not make it. Sarita is not seen again until Clementine, Jane and Rebecca reach Parker's Run, where a pale and tired Sarita rests on Kenny's lap. Bonnie mentions to Clementine about she and Mike talking to him to take care of Sarita, but Kenny was angered, making the two back off. Clementine can either apologize to Kenny or say she tried to help, but Kenny will angrily rebuff her, saying that apologies don't matter. He asks for some time alone to say goodbye.

After saving Luke and Sarah (Determinant), Clementine can ask Bonnie about Kenny and Sarita. Bonnie mentions to Clementine that Kenny took Sarita into the tent. Clementine goes into the tent and sees Sarita, bullet in her head with a despondent Kenny sitting beside the corpse. Kenny remarks that Sarita hadn't wanted him to wait, but he wanted to see if someone as beautiful as her could possibly become a walker. As such, when Sarita reanimated, Kenny mercifully shot her in the head. When Clementine asks him to leave the tent, he mentions how much pain he had suffered in losing Duck, Katjaa and Sarita, and that he is still suffering through it.

"No Going Back"

Sarita can be mentioned by Clementine to Bonnie when discussing mistakes they had previously made, where she wishes that she hadn't cut off Sarita's arm. (Determinant) Sarita is also mentioned several times throughout the episode by Kenny and Jane, the latter of whom she tells Kenny that he wasn't around when Sarita died/got bit and that Sarita had feared him due to his short temper. If Clementine defends Kenny and says that he loved Sarita, Jane agrees, saying that Kenny loves having people around who won't stick up for themselves, that being the reason he loved Alvin Jr. If Clementine left Sarita to Reanimate (Determinant), Clementine, Jane and Aj are at Howe's Hardware Store, Sarita cannot be seen as a Walker or a Corpse.

Death

Killed By

  • Sarah (Indirectly Caused, Alive)
  • Zombie (Alive, Determinant) (Alive, Indirectly Caused, Determinant)
  • Clementine (Caused, Alive, Determinant; Out of Mercy, Zombified, Determinant)
  • Kenny (Out of Mercy, Zombified, Determinant)

Right after Carlos got killed in the herd, Sarita risks her life to protect Sarah and Clementine from the approaching walkers, since Sarah's screams alerted the walkers, causing her to get separated from Kenny. Somehow, a walker reached Sarita and bit her in the hand, and her scream of pain made Clementine come to the rescue, having the choice to kill the walker or chop off Sarita's arm.

If Clementine cut off Sarita's arm, her screams and her blood attracts walkers and they attack her. Kenny rushes over and kills the walkers, but is too late to save her, as they had already killed her. He apologizes for not being able to save her and tearfully asks her for forgiveness and that he cannot go on without her. Depending on whether or not Clementine warns Kenny that she would turn, Sarita will either be chopped in the head to put her down and stop her from attacking Kenny or she will be left to reanimate, Kenny exclaiming that this was Clementine's fault.

If Clementine killed the walker instead, Sarita will not die during the escape. However, she will be taken to Parker's Run and shot in the head by Kenny later after she reanimates.

Killed Victims

This list shows the victims Sarita has killed:

Relationships

Kenny

That's not the Kenny I know in there... I wish... I thought... I could save him.
―Sarita to Clementine about Kenny. (Determinant)[src]

Sarita first met Kenny when she found him holed up in a restaurant some time after he is separated from Lee's group. He was miserable and not taking care of himself, but she was able to get him out of his depressive state. From there, the two developed a very close relationship, with Kenny becoming protective of her. He has refused to tell her almost anything about his life before they met. He has been shown to periodically lash out at her angrily, though she insists to Clementine that it is only his protective nature. Sarita acts as Kenny's calm and rational side much like Katjaa did, trying to advise him against being reckless and rebuking him for snapping at her. After being captured and sent to the pen by Carver, she is distraught after Kenny is savagely beaten by Carver, resulting in the loss of his left eye. Sarita unsuccessfully tries to dissuade Kenny from beating Carver to death, and if Clementine doesn't watch Kenny beat Carver to death, she says the Kenny she used to know is no longer there, and that she thought she could save him. Regardless of the circumstances of Sarita's death during the escape from Carver's community, Kenny is devastated at losing her.

Clementine

Clem!...AHHH!...You...you...AHHH!
―Sarita to Clementine in shock after she cuts her arm off. (Determinant)[src]

Sarita and Clementine initially distrust each other, but bury the hatchet once Kenny allows them to stay at the ski lodge. Since then, Clementine and Sarita have a good friendship and look after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Sarita is warm and friendly towards Clementine, and offers her food and hospitality. The two, along with Sarah, later work together to decorate the Christmas tree. Sarita also brings up the conversation about her relationship with Kenny, asking what he was like before and that it must be amazing to see him again. After being captured by Carver, Sarita acts more as a motherly figure to Clementine, much like Carley before. She tells Kenny not to push her too hard and looks after from time to time. Sarita and Clementine respect each other's opinions when they discuss their plans to escape and are shown to be supportive towards one another. When the group begins to walk through the herd, Sarah screams after Carlos is killed, and walkers begin to pile on Clementine and Sarah. Sarita helps to defend them from walkers, and is bitten in the wrist during the process. If Clementine decides to cut her arm off to prevent infection, Sarita screams in pain and is bitten by more walkers. Clementine is visibly saddened and can axe Sarita in the head to end her suffering. Alternatively, if Clementine kills the walker that attacks Sarita, Sarita escapes the herd alive, but later dies of the infection. Regardless of how she dies, Clementine is saddened of her friend's demise.

Luke

Kenny and I are here only because of you people...and now you intend to leave us behind.
―Sarita to Luke about leaving her and Kenny behind.[src]

Since then, Luke and Sarita have a good friendship and look after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Sarita is warm and friendly towards Luke, and offers him food and hospitality. In return, Luke offers to help her and the rest of the group in whatever way he can. Luke is worried when he finds out that the man Nick shot was Sarita's friend Matthee, and tells Clementine to keep it a secret, out of fear of Sarita. After being captured by Carver, Sarita and Luke's relationship is more stable. Sarita and Luke respect each other's opinions when they discuss their plans to escape and are shown to be supportive towards one another. However, tensions between them began to surface when Luke suggests that the group leave an injured Kenny behind in order to escape. Sarita scolds Luke, saying that Kenny and her are only trapped in Howe's Hardware because of his group.

Nick

I don't know guys... Luke's makin' sence, maybe we should wait.
―Nick to Sarita and the group about waiting instead of leaving.[src]

Sarita and Nick initially distrust each other, but bury the hatchet once Kenny allows them to stay at the ski lodge. Since then, Nick and Sarita have a good friendship and look after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Sarita is warm and friendly towards Nick, and offers him food and hospitality. In return, Nick offers to help her and the rest of the group in whatever way he can. Later on, Nick and Sarita assist each other during the walker attack. Sarita never finds out that Nick was responsible for the death of her friend Matthew. Alternatively, if Nick survives the events of the ski lodge, Sarita and Nick respect each other's opinions when they discuss their plans to escape and are shown to be supportive towards one another. The two of them work together while escaping Howe's and the walker herd.

Carlos

Carlos, right? Mind if I steal your daughter for a secret mission?
―Sarita to Carlos about Sarah.[src]

Carlos and Sarita initially distrust each other, but bury the hatchet once Kenny allows them to stay at the ski lodge. Since then, Carlos and Sarita form a good friendship and look after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Sarita is warm and friendly towards Carlos, and offers him food and hospitality. Grateful, Carlos offers to help her and her group in whatever way he can. Carlos is shown to trust Sarita, as he allowed his daughter to help her decorate the ski lodge. Later on, Carlos and Sarita assist each other during the walker attack. After being captured by Carver, Carlos and Sarita respect each other's opinions when they discuss their plans to escape and are shown to be supportive towards one another. Carlos restrains Sarita when Carver beats Kenny to prevent her from being hurt as well. The two of them later work together while escaping Howe's and the walker herd.

Sarah

It means that doing good things for people can be good for you, too.
―Sarita explaining "Good King Wenceslas" to Sarah.[src]

Sarah misses the moral conflict on bringing guns inside the Ski lodge, and seems to like Sarita from when they first met. Since then, Sarah and Sarita have a good friendship and look after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Sarita is warm and friendly towards Sarah, and offers her food and hospitality. Sarita begins to take on a parental role for Sarah as well as Clementine. She offers to keep Sarah occupied with working together on decorating the Christmas tree. Sarita cares about Sarah and Clementine, asking them if they are okay. Sarah and Sarita respect each other's opinions when they discuss their plans to escape Carver's community and are shown to be supportive towards one another. Sarah comforts Sarita after Carver beats Kenny. The both of them work together while escaping Howe's and the walker herd. Sarita breaks her stealth to defend Sarah and Clementine from walkers after escaping Howe's, but that costs Sarita's life. She is bitten by a walker, and depending on the choices, Sarita can die in two differents ways and times.

Rebecca

Yeah, come on. Sarah? Can you go see if there's something for her to drink?
―Sarita worried about Rebecca's well-being.[src]

Rebecca and Sarita initially distrust each other, but bury the hatchet once Kenny allows them to stay at the ski lodge. Since then, Rebecca and Sarita have formed a good friendship and look after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Sarita is frequently seen talking to Rebecca and looking after her during the latter's pregnancy. After being captured by Carver, Sarita often takes care of Rebecca when she starts to become ill. Rebecca returns the favour by consoling Sarita when she cries regarding Kenny's brutal beating. Rebecca and Sarita respect each other's opinions when they discuss their plans to escape Carver's community and are shown to be supportive towards one another. The both of them work together while escaping Howe's and the walker herd. After escaping Carver's, Rebecca seems saddened after Sarita's passing.

Alvin

Good. If you'll all follow me, I'll show you where you can sleep.
―Sarita to Alvin, Carlos and Rebecca.[src]

Sarita and Alvin initially distrust each other, but bury the hatchet once Kenny allows them to stay at the ski lodge. Since then, Alvin and Sarita have formed a good friendship and look after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Sarita is warm and friendly towards Alvin, and offers him food and hospitality. In return, Alvin offers to help her and the rest of the group in whatever way he can. After being taken hostage, Sarita is shown to be worried for Alvin when he is dragged out by Carver to force Kenny to surrender, and is saddened if he is executed. Alternatively, if Alvin survives, he dies at the hands of Carver. Sarita is shown to be saddened and sorry towards Rebecca upon receiving the sad news.

Bonnie

He brought Sarita in there not long after you left.
―Bonnie to Clementine about Kenny and Sarita. (Determinant)[src]

Bonnie and Sarita have a hard relationship at first since Bonnie and Carver's group attacks her safe heaven and take her to the community, though Bonnie later states to Clementine that she didn't mean them any harm. After witnessing Carver's brutal actions, Bonnie helps Sarita and the others escape, to which Sarita appreciates. Later on, both Bonnie and Sarita break free to defend Clementine and Sarah from the approaching walkers outside the Howe's Hardware. After Sarita's fate, Bonnie seems concerned and sad for Kenny and Sarita's passing. If Sarita survives the Howe's Hardware, Bonnie will tell Clementine about Kenny taking care of Sarita before she turns into a walker.

Jane

And where were you when Sarita died, Kenny?
―Jane to Kenny about Sarita's death. (Determinant)[src]

Sarita and Jane become acquaintances when the former is captured and sent to the pen by Carver. Jane assists Sarita in escaping by telling her plan of rubbing walker guts all over themselves to get through the herd. Sarita states that Jane knows what she's talking about, acknowledging that Jane's plan is a good one.

During Jane's argument with Kenny, Jane tells him that he wasn't around when Sarita died and that she fears him due to his short temper, showing that she holds no qualms in bringing up Kenny's family as weapons against him.

Walter

Matthew and Walter are amazing people. Honestly, it's dangerous to be this kind, but they can't help it.
―Sarita to Clementine about Matthew and Walter.[src]

Walter and Sarita have become good friends after the two met each other at the ski lodge. Since then, the two have always worked together to keep the ski lodge safe. The two are warm and friendly towards each other, and help each other out whenever possible. When the group arrives at the ski lodge, Walter and Sarita see them as threats and defend their home together. Sarita later tells Clementine that Walter is very kind towards everyone he meets. Later on, Nick and Sarita assist each other during the walker attack. After being taken hostage, Sarita is shown to be worried for Walter when he is dragged out by Carver to force Kenny to surrender, and is saddened when he is executed.

Matthew

Wait until you meet Matthew. He's a real character. (...) He should be back soon.
―Sarita to Clementine about Matthew.[src]

The two are warm and friendly towards each other, and help each other out whenever possible. While their relationship wasn't explored much, Sarita states that Matthew is a real character and he calls her "Rita", while she called him "Matty", showing that the two had a good friendship.

Reggie

Sarita and Reggie met each other in Carver's community, both of them prisoners to the same man. Despite their conflicting beliefs on their predicament, they both seem to have a natural relationship with each other. Sarita asks Kenny that he not get Reggie into trouble when he requests it of them. (Determinant) While Kenny is speaking to Reggie, she quickly comes to Reggie's defense when he asks about how a man like him had the name Reggie.

William Carver

Come on. Let's go.
―Sarita convincing Clementine to not witness Kenny killing Carver.[src]

Sarita and Carver do not interact with each other that much but have a negative relationship towards one another. He holds her at gunpoint to get Kenny to surrender (Determinant), displaying high hostility towards her. Sarita is then taken as a prisoner back to Carver's survivor settlement along with the rest of the group. Sarita is furious when Carver beats Kenny, nearly sending him to his death. However, she does not support Kenny's act of revenge against the man, displaying at least some moral boundaries towards Carver. After the death of Carver, Sarita talks to Clementine about Kenny killing Carver, whom she fear for him.

Troy

No one is talking to you, Indian lady!
―Troy to Sarita (Determinant)[src]

Sarita has a negative relationship with Troy. He at one point refers Sarita as an "Indian lady", but Sarita doesn't take offense to it saying she is Indian in a proud way. If Sarita trys to help help Kenny, Troy will knock her to the ground, displaying a great dislike and hostile nature to her. When Jane shoots Troy, Sarita and the group leave him left for dead for the Walkers to devour him, leaving her careless as what Troy did to her (Determinant).

Mike

Hush. What do you mean exactly?
―Sarita to Mike to be quiet about Jane's plan.[src]

Mike and Sarita do not interact but have a neutral relationship. Sarita and Mike respect each other's opinions when they discuss their plans to escape and are shown to be supportive towards one another. The two of them work together while escaping Howe's and the walker herd. If Clementine cuts of Sarita's arm/Kill Walker, Mike will be be in the scene and is shocked. Mike either tells Kenny to let go of a Zombified Sarita or helps Sarita escape the herd with Kenny. If Clementine killed the Walker Kenny, Mike and Sarita, have been together over a night off-screen. They aventually arrive at the museum. Mike and the group discuss what is going to happen if something goes wrong and what is going through Kenny's mind. Mike is saddened of Sarita's passing.
