Almost nothing is known about Mr. Richards' life before or as the outbreak began, except that he had a wife.
Mr. Richards is at the arena with other residents, cheering and demanding for the death of Daryl. The next morning, Mr. Richards is one of the townspeople attempting to depart Woodbury, but is denied passage through the gates along with the other residents.
Mr. Richards is one of the casualties of the Cell Block D attack and was put down by Glenn towards the back of the cell block.
While Daryl Dixon is on the run with Michonne, Tyreese Williams, and Bob Stookey for medical supplies, he finds a stone and picks it up, mentioning that when Mrs. Richards went into Cell Block A, she asked him to find a jasper stone to be used as a marker for the grave of her husband, who died in the Cell Block D attack.
- ↑ The only two other adult males killed in the cell block attack are portrayed Greg Crews and Andrew Crigler. Both confirmed that their characters were not named Mr. Richards as Greg Crews' character was named after himself and Andrew Crigler's character was only referred to as "Young Walker". This leaves Rob Fitts' elderly character from Woodbury as the only one who fits the role of Mr. Richards.
