The Mosin–Nagant (Russian: Винтовка Мосина, ISO 9: Vintovka Mosina) is a bolt-action, internal magazine-fed, military rifle, developed by the Imperial Russian Army in 1882–1891, and used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations.
The Model 91/30 (pictured here) was most common, and was quite long with the bayonet deployed. Several variants were produced, including the Model 1944 (or M44), which was a response to the problems the Soviets encountered using an exceptionally long rifle in the close urban fighting amid the rubble of Stalingrad in 1942. It featured a shortened barrel and an integral bayonet which folded to the right when not in use, and is the rifle Harley uses in the episode "Us".
All models fired the same 7.62x54R cartridge (which is ballistically similar to the American .30-06), held in a five-round internal magazine which could be loaded manually or with the aid of a charging clip.
