Martha Brown is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's Fear The Walking Dead. She is a resident of the Broke Jaw Ranch community.

Pre-Apocalypse

Tokyo, Japan

In the early 1950's, Martha worked at an army hospital in Tokyo. At the hospital, she met and fell in love with Russell, whom she later married and moved to the southern United States.

Post-Apocalypse

Season 3

"The New Frontier"

As Jeremiah gives Madison and Nick a tour of the ranch, Martha can be seen talking to Russell and two guards before she sits down in a chair by a camper with her husband.

"TEOTWAWKI"

Martha is at Charlene's memorial service with her husband listening to Pat talk about her daughter. That night, Martha is dancing with Russell outside their home.

"Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame"

In the middle of the night, Russell wakes up after hearing noises. He discovers Martha wandering in the dark until she turns around and reveals herself as a zombie, having died in her sleep of unknown causes. He goes to hug her and she bites him, but it's revealed that she has dentures, and is currently without them. Russell dances with the zombified Martha for a while, before grabbing a gun and shooting both himself and the reanimated Martha in the head. They both fall on a lantern that breaks, and burns them and their house to the ground. Later, Jeremiah reveals Martha and Russell's backstory to Nick.

Death

• Unknown Cause (Alive)

It's unknown what killed Martha. Assuming from her old age, she probably died of natural causes or of some preexisting chronic illness in her sleep.

• Russell Brown (Zombified)

Russell wakes up in the middle of the night and discovers that Martha has reanimated. Knowing that he can't live in the apocalypse without her, he grabs a gun and shoots both the reanimated Martha and himself in the head. They both fall on a lantern that breaks, and burns them and their house to the ground.

• Martha is the first character to be seen as a zombie before the character's death episode.
  • The second being Jimmie, him being seen as a zombie in the preview of "The Unveiling"
