- "God bless you, Brother."
- —Joseph to Jeremiah.[src]
Joseph Bressler, better known as Joe, is a character who appeared in The Walking Dead: Descent. He is the eldest member of Pentecostal People of God. He is described to be a old man closest to God with toothless mouth, his upper dentures stained and foul smelling.
Nothing is known about Joe's life before the apocalypse, except that Joseph is a 73 year old man who ran a grocery store for forty-three years in Tallahassee's tough Frenchtown area. Joseph looked the other way when the poor kids from the neighbourhood came in to steal diapers and formula and ran off the counterfeit food stamps for the local mothers. He had a decent relationship with his wife Ida. The two were happily married for fifty years, childless yet devoted to their marriage.
Joe is one of the members of Jeremiah's group that get trapped in his Church. After being rescued from the herde of walkers by Lilly and the Woodbury survivors, he becomes a member of Woodbury. Jeremiah listed Joseph, as being best suited for Walker patrol in Woodbury, as he hands Lilly a chart of the members of his groups best attribute, age and occupation. After the Church group finally decides to all be part of the mass suicide in Woodbury to join with God, Joseph helps the females of the church prepare the sacramental food and drink back in the kitchen. Jeremiah later places a sacramental bread on Joseph's tongue, which was coated with poison, however Bob switched out the poison with H20. After, Jeremiah hands Joseph a cup, and Joe knows back the tepid fluid that has expects will finally bring his long, full life close.
After the idea of taking their lives fails, as Bob switched out the poison with water, Stephen blows the Woodbury gates as part of the plan, to let the undead in.
This list shows the victims Joseph has killed:
After Stephen blows the gates to Woodbury, a horde of the undead overrun Woodbury, and Joseph is devoured by walkers in the racetrack arena.
