- "Aim high, sure... But you ain't going to hit the moon. That girl's a loner, don't need no one. Losing that Glenn fella, that hit her hard, you can see it on her face. Tough to come back from that."
- —The guard's advice to Dante as they discuss his crush on Maggie.[src]
Nothing is known about guard's life before or as the outbreak began.
Sometime in the apocalypse, the guard managed to find the Hilltop Colony and joined its community, becoming a guard.
As the trio search the uncharted territory for Ken, the guard offers some advice to Dante as they talk about his crush on Maggie. As the trio search the uncharted territory for Ken, they come across a barn fitting the description Marco had told them where he had left Ken. All three set off inside where they discover Marco's beanie, but not Ken. They are soon ambushed by the undead as they begin to make their way into the barn.
Though vastly outnumbered, the trio manage to fight out of the barn and begin to attack the undead back to back. As they begin to thin the numbers of the undead, Doug is distraught as a roamer seemingly strikes out at him with a knife. He cries out that the undead are using weapons, with another soon striking out at this guard.
The guard manages to deflect the "roamers" attack but loses focus as Doug attempts to retreat. As Doug attempts to retreat, he is brutally killed, leaving the guard distraught. The guard is swiftly stabbed in the throat and dies from the fatal blow, leaving Dante to face the new threat alone.
Dante manages to defeat the two "roamers" and, upon further inspection of the two corpses, discovers that they are survivors disguised as roamers.
This list shows the victims the guard has killed:
- Numerous counts of zombies and possibly unnamed people.
After witnessing Doug being killed by an armed "zombie", the guard lets down his guard long enough to be stabbed in the neck by another armed "zombie".
