Harlan Steagal is a character that appears in The Walking Dead: The Road to Woodbury. He is a nerdy grad student with thick horn-rim glasses.
Pre-Apocalypse
Athens, Georgia
Almost nothing is known about Harlan's life before or as the outbreak began. All that is known is that he was a grad student who originated from Athens.
Post-Apocalypse
Tent City
Harlan was a survivor staying in Tent City. He began holding nightly philosophy salons. The half dozen social misfits that joined him groped for answers about the origin of the plague, the future of mankind, and the walkers patterns of behavior. The consensus among them think that there are only two possibilities about the zombies. One being that zombies have no instinct, purpose, or behavioral pattern other than involuntary feeding. They are merely sputtering nerve endings with teeth, bouncing off each other like deadly machines that simply need to be turned off. The other being that there is a complex pattern of behavior going on that no survivor has figured out yet. They also wonder about how the undead plague is transmitted from the dead to the living.
Fate
It is unknown what happened to him after zombies destroyed Tent City, Lilly's group stated that it is highly unlikely that there were any survivors.
