J. T. Petty is an American film director, author, and video game writer. He wrote "Amid The Ruins" of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: Season Two, despite not being a member of Telltale's staff.

Petty's films and novels contain elements of the horror genre. He is best known for his writing on the Ubisoft video game, "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell". He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
