―Ellen's note to Abraham Ford before abandoning him with her children[src]

Ellen Ford is a survivor of the outbreak and the wife of Abraham Ford and mother of A.J. and Becca in AMC's The Walking Dead.

Pre-Apocalypse

Nothing is known about Ellen's life before or as the outbreak began, except that she was married to Abraham and they had two children, Becca and A.J.

Post-Apocalypse

Season 5

"Self Help"

Ellen is seen in a grocery store with her kids after Abraham kills multiple people, presumably because they attacked Ellen as she is seen with a black eye. They are terrified of what Abraham has become and are seen hiding under a counter as Abraham kills the survivors. Ellen and the kids leave the next day, and upon finding a car, they are attacked and devoured by walkers, later being found dead by Abraham.

Killed Victims

This list shows the victims Ellen has killed:

  • Possibly numerous counts of zombies

Death

Killed By

Ellen Ford and her family ran away from Abraham Ford, who was searching for them. Abraham then discovered their devoured bodies outside the grocery store. Ellen and their children were already dead torn apart from walkers and never reanimated.

Relationships

Abraham Ford

Though little is known about Abraham's relationship with his wife, he obviously was greatly protective of her, being the main driving force keeping her alive in the apocalypse. During flashback sequences in "Self Help", he is shown to have killed a group of people, presumably to protect Ellen and their children. Despite reassurances from Abraham that everything would be alright, she seemed deeply disturbed by his actions, hinting at some possible previous tensions. During the night, she attempts to leave him with her children, but they are slaughtered by walkers. Abraham, discovering this, becomes deeply damaged, nearly killing himself before a man, Eugene Porter, wanders into his proximity. This shows that Abraham had become completely dependent on his family, including Ellen, to keep his drive for living going. Without them, he quickly crumbled into depression until a new purpose could find its way to him in the form of Eugene and his lies about Washington, D.C..
