Nothing is known about Earl's life before or as the outbreak began except that he was a biker and possibly in a bike gang.

After the Governor was mutilated by Michonne, Earl took watch sometimes in front of the infirmary so no resident saw what happened to him. During the prison assault, he carried a 20-gauge. It is unknown how and when he died
