Little is known about Diane's life before the outbreak. All that is known is that Diane worked as a police officer in King County before the outbreak and likely worked alongside Rick Grimes, Shane Walsh, Leon Basset, Lambert Kendal, and Don. She worked in dispatch along with a woman named Linda, and together the two women selected the flowers that Shane brought to Rick in the hospital before the outbreak occured.

When the outbreak began, Diane's fate is ultimately unknown. She was either assisting the Military and FEMA deal with the infection, or fled to another location.
