- —Detroit to the other Woodbury residents.[src]
Detroit is an African-American survivor who lived at Woodbury. He was descried as being a middle-aged man in greasy dungarees and has a grey beard. He is the town mechanic.
Nothing is known about Detroit's life before or as the outbreak began. It is likely that he lived in or near Woodbury before the outbreak.
It is unknown how long Detroit was in Woodbury, but it can be assumed he's been there for a while. He is present when Gene Gavin is giving a speech. He mumbles something and the major, somewhat racist, tells him to speak up. He says that he is tired of being pushed around by the major. He is told to sit down and he does so. Eventually, he is heard getting out of his seat and seen walking toward the exit. Gavin draws his gun and fires at the back of Detroit's head and kills him. Brian, after Detroit's death stands frozen against the side of the vending machine where Detroit's blood seeps under the soles of his shoes.
After sitting down as told to do so, Detroit gets up and is heard not too long after. Gavin fires at the back of the man's head and sends him into the vending machine, killing him.
