He is said to be sweetheart who tips his cap as they pass on the street, share his rations with her and would often wink at her, according to Lilly Caul. He was involved in the battle between Woodbury and the Prison. He fights 30 feet away from Lilly and is one of the first wave of fighters to attack the prison and is shot in the neck, and spewing tissue through the exit wound. He is buried by the other soldiers, after the first initial battle and is shot in the head by the Governor to prevent him from reanimating.
