This article is about Rebecca's husband. You may be looking for his possible son.

You take care of my girls. I get the feeling it's gonna be a girl... Just a hunch. Go on.
―Alvin's last words to Clementine. (Determinant)[src]

Alvin is a main character who first appears in Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: Season Two. He is the husband of Rebecca and a member of the cabin survivors.

Pre-Apocalypse

Location Unknown

Alvin was married happily to Rebecca, who he loves dearly. Very little is otherwise known about Alvin's pre-apocalypse life except that Alvin mentions that he and Rebecca went skiing once, and Rebecca states that it wasn't pretty.

Post-Apocalypse

Howe's Hardware

Alvin and his wife Rebecca were members of the community at Howe's Hardware community run by William Carver. Unbeknownst to Alvin, Rebecca had an affair with Carver that he would not learn about until the events of "A House Divided". Some time later Rebecca became pregnant, though Alvin remained in the dark that the baby may not have been his. When Luke and Carver disagreed about how to run the community, Alvin and Rebecca followed a group lead by Luke in leaving Howe's Hardware. Upon doing so, he was forced to kill his own friend, another community member named George. The group succeeded in escaping the community, though they were forced to leave Reggie behind who fell when trying to escape. Eventually, the group took shelter in a cabin in the woods nearby.

Season 2

"All That Remains"

When Pete brings Clementine to the group, Alvin acts as a voice of reason by calming Rebecca and Nick down. He becomes sympathetic towards Clementine when she shows the group her bite wound and starts to suggest that they could spare some supplies before Rebecca silences him. He can still be convinced to defend her if she chooses to appeal to him. Later, when Clementine looks for supplies to help her stitch her arm up, she can approach Alvin's window and ask for his help or enter the cabin without asking for his help. If Clementine asks Alvin for help, he tries to refuse to help her, saying he will get in trouble. Although, Clementine can convince him to help her anyway. If so, he brings her some bandages and a juice box before attending the house meeting about Clementine. Later, when Clementine patches herself up at the shed. He will be seen shocked looking at how she survived a walker all by herself and fixed up her arm. When Clementine heads to the fish traps, He is then not seen for the rest of the episode.

"A House Divided"

Alvin appears in this episode. He, along with Luke, went looking for Clementine, Pete and Nick after they went missing at the fish traps. When Clementine returns to the cabin, it is shown that this has left Rebecca very distraught and she says he should have never gone looking for them. He and Luke return with Nick (Determinant). After Clementine and Sarah's encounter with Carver. He is seen discussing the sudden reappearance of Carver with the other group members in the cabin. Agreeing with them to move away. Later, he travels with the rest of the group to a distant mountain range, all the while being concerned about Rebecca's pregnancy and hunger. When they are confronted by a group of apparent bandits at an abandoned ski lodge, Alvin tries to convince the aggressors to put their guns down. However, one of the group members turns out to be an old friend of Clementine. Bringing the two groups together. Alvin stays at the lodge and comforts Rebecca, when she feels a slight pain in her stomach Alvin quickly jumps to her aid, but she tells him it's fine and she's just thirsty. Alvin goes to grab some water and Rebecca uses the opportunity to reveal that the baby is not Alvin's, saying that he'll "kill her" if he found out and asks Clementine for advice. Alvin then returns and Clementine heads downstairs to go deal with other issues.

During the walker attack on the lodge. Alvin remains inside to protect Rebecca. But later when Carver and his group attack, he, Rebecca and Clementine hide while everyone else gets rounded up and forced onto their knees. Alvin and Clementine work together to sneak towards Rebecca. Alvin then notably discovers Rebecca's affair with Carver after the latter calls out to Rebecca, suggesting that the baby belongs to him. Alvin looks upset and disappointed but nonetheless stays by his wife's side, and later affirms that he still considers Rebecca's baby his. He and Rebecca get in an argument of whether or not to surrender to Carver. Eventually he convinces her to surrender, but gives Clementine the option to find Luke and Kenny who have since gone missing. If she choose to find the others Alvin will help her escape before revealing himself to Carver. After Kenny shoots Johnny, Kenny can be convinced to take another shot or stand down. Alvin can be executed by Carver after Kenny takes the shot and fails to hit Carver in the head or Clementine is not held at gunpoint instead of Alvin. But his life can be spared if Clementine and Kenny surrender to him. If Clementine surrenders with Rebecca, Alvin will be grabbed by Carver she is later given the chance to yell at Luke and Kenny to stop or run into Carver as he holds Alvin hostage, knocking him free and causing Carver to miss his shot. Which both cause Carver to hold Clementine at gunpoint, to which Kenny surrenders. If he is spared, he, along with the others, are marched out of the ski lodge and into the snow by Carver and his group at gunpoint.

"In Harm's Way"

If Alvin survived the events of "A House Divided", he will appear alongside the other members of Clementine's group captured in Carver's group's truck, being escorted to their compound. After the truck arrives at the compound, Alvin and the other members of the group are loaded off the truck. Alvin is soon told he needs to go to Carver's office for a moment, Rebecca tries to stop him, but Alvin tells her not to worry, saying if Carver wanted to kill him, he would have done it already.

After Alvin arrives at Carver's office, the latter beats him to an unconscious and bloody state. Clementine later sees this when Carver invites her to his office for a talk and she asks why Carver would hurt Alvin so badly. Carver simply responds by saying that the two have history and it can be inferred that part of Alvin's beating was because of his murder of George, a former member of Carver's community.

A day after his sadistic beating at the hands of Carver, Clementine sneaks into Carver's office, hoping to use the controls of the compound's PA system located inside to draw a nearby herd to the compound. Clementine tries to wake Alvin, but it is to no avail, leading her to believe he is dead. However, after Clementine activates the PA, Alvin springs to life and grabs a spare gun in Carver's desk, musing over how a 'big man' uses such a small weapon. He tells Clementine to leave him, saying that there is no way he will be able to escape the compound in his current condition. Just before Clementine leaves, Alvin tells her to look after his girls, saying he thinks Rebecca's baby will be a girl. After that, Hank, one of Carver's men, bursts into the office and shoots Alvin in the chest, however, Alvin uses one last ounce of strength and uses Carver's spare gun to shoot and kill Hank, shortly dying afterwards.

Amid The Ruins

Alvin is referenced a few times in this episode by Rebecca wishing Alvin was here and feeling guilty about things she sure have told him.

No Going Back

In honor of Alvin, Kenny names Rebecca's son after him. Later on in the episode Kenny will once again mention Alvin telling Clementine to tell him about his father.

Season 3

Ties That Bind - Part 1

Clementine can references Alvin to Jane, if she picks Rebecca as AJ's middle name. Saying this way he can remember both of his parents.

Ties That Bind - Part 2

Clementine can references Alvin to Ava, telling her that both of AJ's parents are dead.

Death (A House Divided)

Killed By

  • William Carver
  • Kenny (Indirectly Caused)
  • Bonnie (Indirectly Caused)
  • Clementine (Indirectly Caused, Determinant)

After Kenny had killed Johnny and Walter had been killed, Carver will take Alvin hostage to get closer to Kenny, Rebecca tries to stop him but Troy holds her at gunpoint, but seeing as Kenny (and Clementine if she went to find him) moved to a different spot from where they shot Johnny, Kenny has the opportunity to shoot Carver at a different angle. Alvin then tells Rebecca that he loves her as a way of saying goodbye as she tries to convince Carver to let him go.

Found Kenny: If Clementine went to find Luke and Kenny, she has the option to tell Kenny to shoot or tell him not to. If she tells him to take the shot, Carver will be shot in the shoulder and knocked to the ground, but he gets up. Kenny tries to reload his gun to shoot him again but is too late as Carver shoots Alvin in the head.

Surrendered to Carver: If Clementine chose to give up with Rebecca and Alvin, and tries to convince Carver to let Alvin go, he throws Alvin down and turns to Clementine instead. He picks her up and uses her as a hostage instead, sparing Alvin since Kenny surrenders, If she doesn't say or do anything, it will result in Carver being shot but still able to shoot Alvin dead.

Death (In Harm's Way)

Killed By

  • Hank
  • William Carver (Indirectly Caused)

If Alvin is saved in the previous episode, he is badly beaten up by Carver and left in his office. Later, Clementine finds him mortally wounded and nearly immobile. He manages to get up and gets a gun from Carver's drawer, when he hears Carver's men approaching them he tells Clementine to go, no matter what Clem says he stays behind because he is in too much pain to move. Before allowing Clementine to go, he promises her that he'll buy her some time, he then asks her to look after Rebecca and their child. Hank then runs in and before Alvin can take the shot, Hank shoots him in the shoulder, but just before he could die from the wound, he manages to shoot his murderer in the chest killing him as well, before dying himself.

Given that Alvin's brain wasn't destroyed may mean that he might have turned. If this is fact then he will have likely been put down by Tavia or any other Howe's member that came into the office in order to turn off the PA.

Killed Victims

This list shows the victims Alvin has killed:

  • George
  • Hank (Determinant)
  • Numerous counts of zombies.

Relationships

Rebecca

I know it's a waste of time, but I can't stop thinking about the things I should've said to him... Things I should've talked to him about.
―Rebecca to Clementine about her thoughts on Alvin. (Determinant)[src]

Rebecca is married to Alvin, and her husband seems to be more kind-hearted and compassionate than her. Clementine's arrival at the cabin has apparently increased tensions between the two; both disagree on whether or not to trust the young girl. Further, the possibility exists that the child Rebecca carries isn't Alvin's, and this causes her a great deal of distress. However, they both care greatly for one another, with Alvin constantly looking out for her during their journey to the mountains. When Carver held the group hostage Rebecca wanted to find Luke and Kenny to possibly save everybody including Alvin. When Alvin is held up he says "I love you Bec" showing how close Alvin is to Rebecca. Should Alvin die, Rebecca is clearly devastated by his demise and is crying again showing how much she loves him. Alternatively, if Alvin survived, Rebecca is reduced to tears after Carver beats Alvin into unconsciousness. Later, Rebecca asks Clementine to rescue Alvin when she sneaks into Carver's office, but becomes devastated when Clementine returns alone after Alvin's death. Later, Rebecca stays behind to watch Kenny savagely beat Carver to death, in revenge for Alvin's death.

Alvin Jr.

It looks like Alvin. (...) Definitely.
―Clementine to Rebecca about the baby. (Determinant)[src]

Alvin never had the chance to meet his wife's baby, but he clearly cared deeply about the well-being of both the baby and his mother while she was pregnant with him, he later discovers that the baby may not be biologically his but his possible last words to Clementine asking her to take care of them would suggest that he doesn't care about that and still cares about the baby as much as he did before.

Clementine

Everything that Alvin did, was for you and the baby. Back at Carver's, in the office, he stayed behind to stop the people chasing us. He died to keep us safe.
―Clementine to Rebecca about Alvin. (Determinant)[src]

Alvin is initially neutral to Clementine when they first meet, but doesn't show any hostility to her unlike his wife and Nick. Clementine can appeal to him during the group argument and he readily takes her side, and can also give Clementine juice and bandages if convinced to help her. He seems to be relatively friendly in his disposition to her, although Rebecca often cuts him off from verbally supporting Clementine. Their relationship is further explored during their journey to the mountains, where Alvin thanks Clementine for keeping food for Rebecca and expresses his gratitude that Clementine is with them. In the ski lodge, Alvin thanks Clementine for looking after Rebecca for him. After being taken hostage, Clementine is shown to be worried for Alvin when he is dragged out by Carver to force Kenny to surrender, and is saddened when he is executed. Alternatively, he is taken to Carver's office and beaten into unconsciousness. Clementine is shown to be concerned for him and can tell Carver to let him go. When Clementine later sneaks into the office, she finds Alvin unconscious and tries to wake him up, to no avail. When she activates the PA system, Alvin regains consciousness and asks Clementine to look after Rebecca and their baby before buying time with his life to allow Clementine to escape.

Luke

We'll have a tough time coverin' you from back here.
―Alvin to Luke regarding the latter's plans.[src]

Luke and Alvin are good friends and have survived with each other for some time during the apocalypse. Luke cares for Alvin, and does whatever he can to help him and his family. Later on, Luke and Alvin work together to find Clementine, Pete and Nick after they have not returned for some time. Alvin respects Luke to some extent, and doesn't have any arguments when Luke tells everyone to pack up and leave the cabin. Luke and Alvin constantly look after each other on their journey to the mountains. At the bridge, Luke plans to bring Clementine along to scout the bridge for any hazards. Alvin tells him that they will be unable to cover the both of them should they do so, showing concern for him. Luke, however, assures Alvin that he and Clementine will be fine. Alternatively, if Alvin survived the events of the ski lodge, he dies at the hands of Carver's henchmen. Luke is shown to be saddened and sorry towards Rebecca upon receiving the sad news, and tries to console her. After the firefight with the Russians, Luke states that he misses his friends who have died, Alvin included.

Peter Joseph Randall

Son of a bitch...
―Alvin upon finding Pete's corpse. (Determinant)[src]

Pete and Alvin are good friends and have survived with each other for some time during the apocalypse. Pete, who seems to act as the group's leader, clearly does not mind him staying and takes importance from what he says during their house meeting regarding Clementine. Alvin respects Pete and his leadership, and stands with him with his decisions. After finding Pete's corpse or hearing of his death, Alvin, along with the rest of the group, was saddened.

Nick

It's a shame. Nick was a good guy. He's still a good guy. He's just losin' it. (...) God knows we're not perfect...
―Alvin to Clementine about Nick.[src]

Nick and Alvin are good friends and have survived with each other for some time during the apocalypse. However, after Nick shoots Matthew, Alvin is extremely critical of his choice, even moreso once Alvin and Clementine find that Matthew was telling the truth about having food. Alvin says that regardless of Nick's intentions, he murdered Matthew. They constantly look after each other on their journey to the mountains and Alvin worries for Nick's mental health after losing Pete. After being taken hostage, Nick is shown to be worried for Alvin when he is dragged out by Carver to force Kenny to surrender, and is saddened and enraged when he is executed. Alternatively, if Alvin survived, he dies at the hands of Carver's henchmen. Nick is shown to be saddened and sorry towards Rebecca upon receiving the sad news.

Carlos

I'll go with you.
―Carlos helping Alvin.[src]

Carlos and Alvin are good friends and have survived with each other for some time during the apocalypse. Carlos, who seems to act as the group's leader, clearly does not mind him staying and takes importance from what he says during their house meeting regarding Clementine. Carlos and Alvin constantly look after each other on their journey to the mountains and later work with each other to find a way to enter the ski lodge. In the ski lodge, Alvin and Carlos discuss the possibilities of Carver's group being around. Alvin states that they are safe, while Carlos decides to take no chances and leave the place the next day. Alvin, having no arguments, agrees with Carlos' plans. After being taken hostage, Carlos is shown to be worried for Alvin when he is dragged out by Carver to force Kenny to surrender, and is saddened and enraged when he is executed. Alternatively, if Alvin survived, he dies at the hands of Carver's henchmen. Carlos is shown to be saddened and sorry towards Rebecca upon receiving the sad news.

Sarah

Look at those guns. We start shooting and people are gonna die, on both sides.
―Alvin to Rebecca regarding the safety of the group. (Determinant)[src]

Sarah and Alvin are good friends and have survived with each other for some time during the apocalypse. Alvin cares for Sarah's well-being, and doesn't have any arguments about Carlos wanting to shield her from the horrors of a post-apocalyptic world. Alvin and Rebecca would usually look after Sarah while the rest of the group engage in activities. Alvin worries for Sarah's safety when she is held hostage, and tells Rebecca that they have to surrender to prevent people from dying. After being taken hostage, Sarah is shown to be worried for Alvin when he is dragged out by Carver to force Kenny to surrender, and is saddened when he is executed. Alternatively, if Alvin survived, he dies at the hands of Carver's henchmen. Sarah is shown to be saddened and sorry towards Rebecca upon receiving the sad news.

Kenny

Alvin didn't look it... but yeah... that guy had a pair on him. You were right about me givin' myself up... I can't believe I was willin' to sacrifice Alvin just to hold out a longer. We should've saved him sooner... got him outta the camp. I'm gonna think about that... every time I look at Alvin Jr. here. Alvin should be here... Raisin' this boy... It should be him...
―Kenny to Clementine about Alvin. (Determinant)[src]

Kenny and Alvin initially distrusted each other, but buried the hatchet once Kenny allows them to stay at the ski lodge. Since then, Alvin and Kenny have formed a good friendship and looked after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Kenny was warm and friendly towards Alvin, and offered him food and hospitality. Grateful, Alvin offers to help him and his group in whatever way he can. After hearing that Kenny lost his family, Alvin was sorry and sympathetic towards him. After the group is taken hostage, Kenny determinedly shoots Carver when he drags Alvin out to threaten Kenny into surrendering. Kenny, however, manages to shoot Carver only in the arm and indirectly causes Carver to shoot and kill Alvin. Alternatively, if Alvin survived, he dies at the hands of Carver's henchmen. Kenny is shown to be saddened and sorry towards Rebecca upon receiving the sad news. After the gunfight with the Russians, Kenny states that Alvin was a brave man, and regrets for not surrendering to Carver, which got him killed, or for not saving Alvin earlier from Carver's office. Kenny states that Alvin should be the one who raises his son, and promises that he will take care of Alvin Jr. for him.

Walter

Can you ask that Walter guy when we can eat?
―Alvin to Clementine about Walter.[src]

Walter and Alvin initially distrusted each other, but buried the hatchet once Kenny allows them to stay at the ski lodge. Since then, Alvin and Walter have a good friendship and looked after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Walter was warm and friendly towards Alvin, and offered him food and hospitality. In return, Alvin offers to help him and the rest of the group in whatever way he can. Alvin was saddened and enraged when Walter was executed by Carver.

Sarita

Good. If you'll all follow me, I'll show you where you can sleep.
―Sarita to Alvin and the others.[src]

Sarita and Alvin initially distrusted each other, but buried the hatchet once Kenny allows them to stay at the ski lodge. Since then, Alvin and Sarita have a good friendship and looked after each other during their stay at the ski lodge. Sarita was warm and friendly towards Alvin, and offered him food and hospitality. In return, Alvin offers to help her and the rest of the group in whatever way he can. After being taken hostage, Sarita is shown to be worried for Alvin when he is dragged out by Carver to force Kenny to surrender, and is saddened when he is executed. Alternatively, if Alvin survived, he dies at the hands of Carver's henchmen. Sarita is shown to be saddened and sorry towards Rebecca upon receiving the sad news.

Reggie

Look, it was my choice to help you guys.
―Reggie to Alvin and the others.[src]

Reggie and Alvin have known each other during their time in Howe's and were on good and friendly terms. Their relationship had been improved when Reggie helped Alvin and the cabin survivors escape Carver's camp. When the group is recaptured and sent back to Howe's, they are greeted by Reggie. Alvin and the others show concern and guilt for leaving him behind, though Reggie assures them that it was his choice to help them.

Bonnie

Alvin killed George when he escaped. He might not have meant to, but George died all the same. Ain't no saints in all this.
―Bonnie to Clementine regarding Alvin. (Determinant)[src]

Bonnie and Alvin were members of Carver's community and knew each other fairly well. Alvin and the group offered Bonnie a chance to join them when they escaped, though she chickened out. Bonnie thought that the group's plan was crazy, though she later regretted not escaping alongside her and the others. Bonnie joins Carver to capture Alvin's group, which causes hostility between the two. Depending on Clementine's actions, Alvin can be killed by Carver, which causes Bonnie to feel guilty and apologize to Clementine for her actions. If Clementine tells Bonnie that Carver killed Walter and Alvin, Bonnie defends Carver, stating what he did was to protect himself. Bonnie also states that Alvin killed her fellow survivor George, showing that she is slightly angry towards Alvin, but acknowledges that he might not have meant to do so. Alternatively, if Alvin survived the events of the ski lodge, he dies at the hands of Carver's henchmen. Bonnie is shown to be saddened and sorry towards Rebecca upon receiving the sad news.

William Carver

Hi, Alvin. Do you remember George, Alvin? You see, I do. I remember a guy that was your friend named George. I remember when you murdered him in cold blood. And why? Because you didn't like me? You could have lodged a complaint. You could have been civil.
―Carver holding Alvin at gunpoint. (Determinant)[src]

Alvin and the cabin survivors were initially members of Carver's community, but escaped him possibly due to Carver's tyranny. Since then, the two became enemies and were hostile towards each other. Carver hates Alvin for killing his friend George, and holds him hostage to force Kenny to surrender. Carver later reassures Rebecca that he will start his family with her and that he will take them "home", which infuriates and causes Alvin to develop a grudge against Carver. If Alvin survived the events of "A House Divided", he will be brought to Carver's office and get beat up by him. Carver later tells Clementine that they both had "history", showing a tense hostility between the two.
